Jeremie Frimpong’s time at Celtic might have been short but he definitely managed to make his mark at the club. When arrived as a teenager from Manchester City, most people probably would have expected him to spend time in the youth ranks. But only a few months later, he was the first-choice right-back in Neil Lennon’s side and held on to that position till he left.

Overall, Frimpong spent a season-and-a-half at Celtic before completing a big move to Bayer Leverkusen in January of this year. And recently, he even played against the Hoops in the Europa League.

Still only 20 years of age, he must be commended for how well he has done since joining Bayer Leverkusen. He is already a regular in their first-team and is even being considered as one of the best right-backs in the Bundesliga this season.

It is pretty clear though that he has very fond memories from his time at Celtic, as he played a big part in the club’s Quadruple Treble season. As reported by Het Parool, Frimpong said:

"“That was probably the best part of my career so far.”"

Frimpong had definitely established himself as a fan favourite during his time at Parkhead and it is great to see him doing so well at Bayer Leverkusen. We can only wish him the best of luck moving forward.

On the other hand, there is cause for optimism regarding the right-back spot at Celtic as well. Ange Postecoglou has two solid options in his squad to pick from in the form of Anthony Ralston and Josip Juranovic.

Ralston has looked like a player transformed this season and has done very well. On the other hand, Juranovic is a Croatian international and while he is yet to quite adjust to his new surroundings, he is expected to be a brilliant signing for Celtic.
