Kyogo Furuhashi has enjoyed a tremendous start to life at Celtic and might already be the club’s most important player. We saw Ange Postecoglou’s side struggle immensely during his absence over the past few weeks as he had suffered an injury while on international duty.

He has now returned to the pitch though and has already made a difference since coming back into the mix of things. While Celtic failed to score against Bayer Leverkusen, they did create several great chances to do so and many of them were thanks to Kyogo’s incredible movement. Then, he opened the scoring in the club’s 2-1 win over Aberdeen before the international break, in what was their first away league win after several months.

As a result, it goes without saying that Celtic will be hoping to have Kyogo fit and in form moving forward. There is no doubt that he is very important to the club’s success this season.

But with his success, exit rumours have also started to swirl around. The Japanese star has already been linked with a move to the Premier League.

In an interview with Takashi Mizunuma, he was asked about whether he would like to follow in Odsonne Edouard’s footsteps and move to the Premier League one day and as reported by the Daily Record, Kyogo said:

"“Many players go from Scotland to the EPL.“It’s motivating to see Takehiro Tomiyasu do well. Good results could open that path for me, but I have to get results to survive at Celtic and the Japan National Team.“I want to do the best I can and contribute to (both) teams.”"

There is no doubt that if Kyogo continues to perform like he has, there will be interest from clubs around Europe in the future.

Nobody knows what the future holds but for the time being, it is clear that he is focused on doing his best for Celtic, which he has shown every time he has been on the pitch. That is the most anybody can ask from a player.

Having been signed this summer, one has to feel that Celtic will be in no hurry to let Kyogo leave anytime in the near future.
