A number of Celtic players have suffered injuries in recent months. And with the squad not being the deepest in the first place, this has left Ange Postecoglou with very few options to pick from at times. Hopefully, most of the players will be available following this international break.
It is safe to say that results have not been great for the Hoops in recent times and one can only hope that they will improve moving forward when a larger portion of the squad is fit and available.
One area that has been a worry for Celtic for a while is left-back. And with Greg Taylor recently undergoing shoulder surgery, Adam Montgomery appears to be the first-choice option there at the moment.
That could remain the case for a while. As reported by the Daily Record, Taylor is likely to be out of action until the end of next month.
Taylor is going to be a big miss for Celtic
Taylor has divided the opinion of Celtic fans as a player during the course of his time at Parkhead but there is no denying the fact that he has been a reliable performer when called upon.
On the other hand, Montgomery made a bright start this season but has not been brilliant in his recent appearances. That is only natural though considering that he is only 19 years of age and this is part of the learning experience for him.
Liam Scales arrived with a lot of expectations in the summer but does not appear to be ready yet in the eyes of Postecoglou, having made only a substitute appearance for Celtic till now. And Boli Bolingoli has barely featured this season either.
With Taylor out of action for the foreseeable future though, one can only hope that one of those three left-backs are able to step up their game soon and nail down a spot in the starting XI.
