It is clear that Celtic need to shake things up right now after managing just two wins from their last eight games across all competitions. And in recent times, they have struggled to find the back of the net.

Of course, the absence of Kyogo played a huge part in that and we already saw the Japanese star make an impact after making his return from injury to face Bayer Leverkusen in midweek.

Celtic didn’t end up scoring on the night but Kyogo’s incredible movement led to a lot more chances being created. And if the Hoops could have taken them, they might have actually had a close game against the Bundesliga giants.

One man who has had no trouble finding the back of the net since the start of the previous campaign is Giorgos Giakoumakis, who was the Eredivisie’s top scorer last season. And as reported by the Daily Record, he could be in line for his first start for Celtic in their game against Aberdeen.

Could Giakoumakis make his first Celtic start against Aberdeen?

Giakoumakis has been included in Celtic’s provisional squad for the Aberdeen game and there certainly is a big possibility that he could get playing time on the day. Will he start though?

That does feel unlikely considering how long he has been out of action for. He certainly did look rusty when he came on against Bayer Leverkusen in midweek. Thus, consistent game time over the next few weeks could help him get up to match speed once again, while he can work on things during the international break as well.

But as we have seen already, Postecoglou can spring a surprise at times. Nobody would have expected either Kyogo or Callum McGregor to start against Bayer Leverkusen after being out for weeks through respective injuries. Thus, it is safe to say that anything can happen.
