It was another defeat for Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic side, their fifth in the last eight games. Bayer Leverkusen walked out with a 4-0 win from Parkhead.

It was not a bad performance on the part of the Hoops but they were not clinical in front of goal while things remain a worry at the back, whether it comes down to individual errors or leaving things open collectively.

It is still very early in the season but we already appear to be at a stage where the results in Celtic’s upcoming games could end up having huge implications on their campaign.

And questions are already being raised about the future of Ange Postecoglou at the club, whose start to life at Celtic has not been great at all. Chris Sutton has delivered a brutally honest verdict on things at Parkhead. He tweeted out:

Celtic need to improve and quickly

At the moment, Celtic sit at sixth in the Premiership table. And their upcoming game against Aberdeen is very important, because if they lose, the Hoops will go into the international break sitting at seventh.

Aberdeen are in the middle of a bad run of form as well and have not won in their previous eight games. Thus, it will certainly be an interesting contest.

One thing is for sure, Celtic need to improve. We have already seen how good they can be when on form during their 6-game winning streak earlier in the season, when they outscored their opponents 24 to 4. But since then, the Hoops have struggle to find any sort of form.

It must be pointed out that injuries have been a massive problem in recent times and it was great to see Callum McGregor and Kyogo Furuhashi back in the line up tonight. Hopefully, they will have a squad near full strength in the near future and then, it will be interesting to see what Postecoglou can do with this team.
