It is safe to say that Celtic have struggled with injury problems in recent times. The Hoops’ squad was not very deep to start with and with several players on the sidelines, Ange Postecoglou has been left with very few options to pick his team from.

Thus, while results have not been the best for Celtic in recent times, it should not come as a surprise considering how much football some of the players have had to play over the past few weeks due to the lack of cover.

Some brilliant players like Kyogo Furuhashi and Callum McGregor, who are arguably the club’s two most important players right now, have been injured recently. On the other hand, Giorgos Giakoumakis is yet to make his debut for the club since arriving on transfer deadline day as he has not managed to get up to match speed and also picked up an injury recently while warming up.

With regards to the three, there is some very positive news. As tweeted out by Alison Conroy, Postecoglou is keen to give game time to Kyogo, McGregor and Giakoumakis before the international break although the game against Bayer Leverkusen is believed to be too soon.

It goes without saying that this is terrific news for the club. And if the Bayer Leverkusen game is too soon, then it must be against Aberdeen that the three could end up featuring.

It will be a very important game for the Hoops. With seven Premiership games played, Postecoglou’s side find themselves sitting at sixth with just 10 points on the board. It is safe to say that things need to improve.

If they win against Aberdeen, then it could see them rise up the table. But if they lose, they will go into the international break in seventh position.
