Celtic are coming off of a busy summer transfer window which saw them sign twelve players. Ten of them arrived on a permanent basis while two are on loan at the moment although both of those deals have an option to buy included in them. Thus, it is safe to say that the Hoops’ squad underwent a transformation this summer.

Naturally, a number of players are still settling into their new surroundings and are yet to make an impact at Parkhead. And hopefully they will do that soon because the results have not been great till now this season.

One such player is Liam Scales. He arrived at the club this summer and has only made one appearance till now, coming off the bench against Raith Rovers in the recent League Cup game.

He is very highly-rated though. And Graham Gartland, who has worked extensively within the Shamrock Rovers academy and was also the assistant manager at Dundee FC, believes that Scales has a chance to cement his place in the Celtic team. As reported by RTE, he told the RTE Soccer Podcast:

"“I think Liam has a chance to get in and play at Celtic. I think he’s a chance to cement his place either at left-back or left centre-back.”"

Can Scales cement his place in this Celtic team?

Scales was one of the best players in the League of Ireland not too long ago. And there are many who believe that he has a chance to be a regular in this Celtic team.

It must be said that he did impress when he came off the bench against Raith Rovers and probably should get more chances over the course of the season to show his quality.

He was one of the most consistent Shamrock Rovers players during his time at the club. He is the type of player who puts in a solid performance almost every game and his ability to play in several positions can also be a huge asset for Ange Postecoglou moving forward.
