As Celtic continue to drop points, doubts have now risen regarding the future of Ange Postecoglou at the club. Not too long ago, the Hoops were playing a brilliant style of football under the new manager and were looking like genuine contenders for the Premiership title. That does seem like a distant memory now although it was just a little over a month ago.

Of course, it must be said that luck has not been on their side recently. The Hoops have suffered a series of injuries. And the squad was not the deepest to begin with, leaving Postecoglou with very few options to pick his side from.

And they were handed a couple more worries in the form of Josip Juranovic and James McCarthy, both of whom were substituted off in the game against Dundee United.

Now, Postecoglou has provided an update on their situation. As reported by The Scottish Sun, the Celtic manager said:

"“Josip felt his hamstring a little bit. We hope it isn’t too bad.“James had been in a fair tackle and was feeling the effects of that knock.”"

Celtic’s injury worries look set to continue

It must be said that Celtic must improve their results as soon as possible if they are to have any hope of challenging for the Premiership title this season. At this moment, they find themselves firmly in mid table.

Some of the performances early on in the season were very promising but now, things appear to have dried up in that regard as well. But that is understandable considering how limited the squad is at the moment. As a result, a number of the players are having to play 90 minutes of football more than once every week.

Things on the pitch have not gone their way recently either. Although nowhere near their best, they could have easily won the game against Dundee United if they had taken their chances in front of goal and even hit the woodwork more than once.
