There is no hiding from the fact that Celtic are in the middle of a terrible run of form at the moment. They have lost four, drawn one and won two of their last seven games. And not many would have seen this coming as it has come immediately following a brilliant run of form when they won six games on the trot, outscoring their opposition 24 to 4.

But then, it should not be a massive surprise considering the number of injury problems that Celtic are dealing with right now. The squad was not the deepest to begin with and now, Ange Postecoglou has very few options to pick from and rotate.

As a result, there are quite a few players who are having to play 90 minutes of football more than once every week. Naturally, the intensity from earlier in the season has been missing in the recent performances.

There appears to be some positive news though. Celtic could get as many as five of their players back in action in the near future. As reported by The Scottish Sun, Postecoglou said about the situation:

"“If Giakoumakis gets a full week of training we’re quite hopeful for next weekend.“We’ve just got to get through to the next international break.“Kyogo isn’t too far away and so is Cal.“Forrest, Mikey Johnston will come back to help us – we’re hoping post international break.”"

Celtic need to turn things around as soon as possible

It has to be said that Celtic need to turn things around as soon as possible. We have already seen how good they can be when on form.

Thus, it is very important that the Hoops can get through the next couple of games without any more injuries. And then, they could have some players back soon, which will put them in a better position than they have been in quite a while.

Of course, questions are already being raised whether this side is good enough to challenge for the Premiership title. That is natural and expected. But one must also remember that about a month ago, they were looking like world-beaters. That’s how quickly things can change in football. And Celtic will be hoping for change right now for sure.
