After only managing to get a 1-1 draw against Dundee United, the pressure is now well and truly on Celtic and Ange Postecoglou to start delivering results. After seven Premiership games, the Hoops find themselves sitting in sixth position with just 10 points on the board. And it must be said that if they are to have any hope of challenging the Rangers for the title this season, they must pick up their form immediately.

That is easier said than done though. Celtic are missing a number of players at this point of time. This has resulted in several of them, who are fit, having to play 90 minutes of football more than once every week. Naturally, the intensity from earlier in the season is missing.

Postecoglou has very few options to pick from at the moment, as the squad was not very deep to begin with. But there appears to be some good news on the injury front.

Giorgos Giakoumakis had injured himself while warming up recently but it turns out that the problem is not very serious and he could be back in action soon. As reported by The Scottish Sun, Postecoglou said:

"“The scan came back actually more positive than we thought so we’re hoping he’ll get back into training this week.“If Giakoumakis gets a full week of training we’re quite hopeful for next weekend.”"

Celtic handed Giakoumakis injury boost

Giakoumakis arrived at the club this summer after topping the Eredivisie scoring charts while playing for VVV-Venlo last season. But he is yet to make his debut for Celtic.

Having not played any football in quite a while, he took some time to get up to speed. And just when it looked like he was set to make an appearance for the club, he ended up picking up an injury.

Fortunately, it does not appear that it is something that will keep him on the sidelines for a long time and he could very well be back on the pitch soon. That will be a massive boost for Celtic, who appear very short of options up front at the moment.

Albian Ajeti is the only recognised striker who is fit right now and it is safe to say that he has not been able to nail down his spot in the starting XI with his recent performances.
