The winds of change are certainly blowing at Celtic, on the pitch and off it. A new manager and several new players arrived at Parkhead this summer. On the other hand, Peter Lawwell retired from his role as the CEO of the club after spending almost two decades in the job. Dom McKay was brought in as his replacement but then ended up leaving after just a few months due to personal reasons.

There have been several other changes behind the scenes as well as it looks like the Hoops are moving in a different direction at the moment. And it is arguable that they need to.

After almost a decade of dominance over Scottish football, they find themselves in a difficult spot right now. This is very much a side in transition at the moment and will probably take some time before they are back competing for the Premiership title.

And it appears that Celtic are refreshing things behind the scenes as well. As reported by Phil Mac Giolla Bhain, a rumour on the Irish business grapevine suggests that golfer Paul McGinley, who is a lifelong fan of the club, has been sounded out to take a seat at the Parkhead board.

With how the club has performed over the past year or so, it is pretty clear that changes are needed at Parkhead.

On the pitch, there have been some positive signs ever since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou when it comes to performances and the style of football. But the results remain mixed and one could argue that they were in a better position at this stage of the campaign last time around, which was one of the most disappointing in Celtic’s history.

That just goes on to show the amount of work that is needed at Parkhead to take the club back to the top of Scottish football.
