There has been a lot of positivity around Celtic ever since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager. It is clear to see what he is trying to do and some of the performances this season have been brilliant. But then, overall, the results have been mixed to be honest and the start to the Premiership campaign has not been good at all.

Celtic have lost three of their opening six Premiership games of the season. Only Livingston have lost more till now. And for comparison, they lost five in the entirety of the 2020/21 league campaign. That time around they ended up finishing 25 points behind the Rangers. At the moment, they sit at sixth on the Premiership table.

It is still early days in Postecoglou’s stint as Celtic manager. But a few more negative results over the next few weeks, and the pressure might well and truly be on him.

Michael Stewart has given a brutally honest verdict on Celtic’s start to the season. He tweeted out:

Celtic need to turn things around as soon as possible

It must be said that the Hoops have not had great luck recently, with a number of key players spending time out on the sidelines due to injury. Hopefully, they will return over the coming weeks and performances will start improving as well.

They need to if they are to put up a challenge for the Premiership this season. Otherwise, the title race might be over before it even really started.

Postecoglou has come in and quickly established himself as a fan favourite. But that view might start to change in the near future if things don’t improve soon in terms of results.

Celtic’s next game is against Raith Rovers in the Scottish League Cup. Hopefully, the Hoops will not only get a win on that day but rediscover some of their form and momentum as well.
