It was easy to be disappointed coming out of Celtic’s 4-3 defeat against Real Betis away in Seville in the opening game of their Europa League group stage campaign. While most fans probably would have taken that result going into the game, the Hoops did go 2-0 up within the first 30 minutes before conceding four straight against Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

Ange Postecoglou’s side did get one back late on through Anthony Ralston but by then, it turned out to be a little too late to salvage a draw.

But when you think about it, considering the circumstances, it was definitely a decent result. An away game against a very good Real Betis side was always going to be tough and then Celtic had a number of players out injured as well.

It is safe to say that while results have been mixed till now, Celtic are certainly moving in the right direction under the management of Postecoglou. And Ralston has made an exciting claim about their future as well. As reported by The Herald, the right-back said:

"“I feel there’s a lot more to come from this group of players, we’ve got a quality team.“And on top of that we have the desire to go places and a strong belief in how the gaffer wants us to play.“I feel we are implementing that, even at this level as well. So it’s important we continue to do that and believe in each other and focus on each game as it comes and try and keep climbing and doing what we can.”"

The future is looking bright for Celtic under the management of Postecoglou

Yes, there are certain aspects that this Celtic side still need to work on. Their defence has remained a worry this season as well while they could have managed the game better after going 2-0 up against Real Betis.

But overall, the signs are very positive regarding what is to come in the future for the Hoops under the management of Postecoglou.

While results have been quite mixed till now, the performances on the pitch have shown a lot of improvement. Ralston is the perfect example of that. He has been brilliant all season and while he did not have a great game against Real Betis, he still managed to make an impact with a late goal.

Of course, there is still a long way to go but the vision is there for all to see. Now it’s all about implementing it.
