Celtic have not had the best luck when it comes to injuries in recent times and it looks like their troubles could continue this season as well. The club are missing quite a few players at the moment and it looks like that list is only growing at the moment.

One of the players who has had his fair share of fitness issues in recent weeks is Greg Taylor and it looks like he could be set to spend some time on the sidelines.

The Celtic left-back has struggled with a shoulder problem recently and has had to be substituted off on a couple of occasions. And now, it looks like he will need surgery on the shoulder and will be out for a while.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, speaking at his pre-match press conference, Ange Postecoglou said:

"“Greg [Taylor] looks like he will probably need surgery on his shoulder.“We would expect him to be out for a medium term sort of time frame.“So he will be out for a while.”"

Celtic have a left-back problem on their hands

Postecoglou certainly has a worry on his hands when it comes to the left-back spot at Celtic. The club did not end up signing an out-and-out left-back in the summer transfer window.

The manager does certainly have a few interesting options though. We have already seen that Josip Juranovic is capable of playing there and did a decent job against the Rangers on his Celtic debut. The club also signed versatile defender, Liam Scales, this summer who is also capable of playing at left-back.

Adam Montgomery is someone who must be considered for the starting spot as well as he has impressed whenever given the chance recently. And then there is Boli Bolingoli, who has not gotten a chance this season but the situation might lead to him breaking into Postecoglou’s plans.

It will be interesting to see what Postecoglou decides to do in the upcoming game against Real Betis and it might end up answering a lot of questions.
