Moussa Dembele returns to Glasgow again this week to face the Rangers in the Europa League group stage. And it is clear that he quite fondly remembers facing them from his time at Celtic.
It is safe to say that he is still a favourite with the Celtic fans and it is not hard to see why. He was absolutely sensational during his time with the Hoops and was arguably the most talented striker the club had in the previous decade.
Although it has been quite a few years since he left, he has continued to show his support for the Green and White side of Glasgow on social media. The last few days have been no exception.
September 10th was the five-year anniversary of his hattrick against the Rangers and SPFL posted a video of it. Dembele retweeted it to the delight of many Celtic fans, who remember the day fondly as well.
The former Celtic star is set to face the Rangers on Thursday
Dembele will be back in Glasgow with Lyon this week in a visit to Ibrox in the opening game of the Europa League group stage campaign. And it is safe to say that he is expected to be keen on finding the back of the net against the Rangers again, like he has done so many times in the past.
Dembele did not have a great 2020/21 campaign but he is back in the goals this season once again. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 4 goals in 5 Ligue 1 appearances till now in the 2021/22 campaign.
The game between the Rangers and Lyon could certainly be an interesting one. The French Ligue 1 giants have not made a great start to their season and currently sit at 7th although they have won their last two games. And it is safe to say that most Celtic fans will be hoping that Dembele finds the back of the net when the two sides meet.
