Although Celtic were not at the top of their game, it ultimately turned out to be a comfortable victory on the day, thanks to a brace from Albian Ajeti and a debut goal from Cameron Carter-Vickers in the second half.

It was particularly Carter-Vickers who managed to catch the eye on the day. Not only did he get a goal, but he was solid at the back as well helping keep a clean sheet while also showing great quality on the ball. As he gets to gel with his new teammates further, he could get even better. And that is certainly an exciting thought.

Of course, it is just his first game for the club and it will be important to see how he does moving forward. But a lot of Celtic fans were delighted with what they saw from the defender on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

This is how some of the club’s fans reacted to Carter-Vickers’ debut on Twitter:

Carter-Vickers’ shined on his Celtic debut

It is safe to say that Carter-Vickers enjoyed a brilliant Celtic debut. The important thing will be for him to build on this performance and continue to improve moving forward.

He certainly looks like a player who can have a big role to play in Ange Postecoglou’s side this season and could be just the type of defender that they needed at the back.

Of course, it is too early to give a verdict on Carter-Vickers but he was as impressive as you can get when it comes to debuts.

Jota also deserves mention for his performance in what was his Celtic debut as well. He looked impressive and certainly appears to be someone who can unlock a defence with his skills and ability on the ball. Although he did not get a goal or an assist on the day, the early signs are certainly very positive.
