There is no doubt that Ange Postecoglou has come in and quickly established himself as a fan favourite at Celtic. While the results have been a bit mixed till now, some of the performances have been brilliant and things certainly look promising when it comes to their future.

But following the departure of Dom McKay as the club’s Chief Executive after just a few months in the role, questions have been raised regarding the direction of the Hoops moving forward.

Some fans are even concerned that Postecoglou might not get the backing that he needs in order to turn things around at Parkhead and take the club back to the top of the Premiership.

In such a situation, the manager’s comments regarding the Celtic board and how he has done things at the club ever since arriving are certainly promising. As reported by The Scottish Sun, Postecoglou said:

"“What I’ve never done over the course of my whole career is do what other people suggest. I’ll always do what I feel is the best for the situation.“We’ve come through a really hectic period where I felt getting our squad together was the number one priority. Now I get the chance to build a structure around it.“If I feel changes need to be made, I will make them, but at no stage has the board, or anyone else at the club, got in the way of me doing anything.”"

Celtic have done well ever since the arrival of Postecoglou as manager

When the appointment was made, most people did not know what to expect. Postecoglou has not been at the club for a long time. But he has already managed to show his quality and many of the fans believe that he is the guy to take the club back to the top of Scottish football.

Celtic certainly did well over the course of the summer transfer window, bringing in twelve players overall, with ten of them arriving on permanent basis while two are on loan with an option to buy included in both the deals.

This squad is far from perfect though and there are quite a few areas where they need to strengthen further or add more depth. Hopefully, the club will continue to back Postecoglou moving forward and more new signings will be made in the January transfer window, especially with the J1 League season over at that point.
