It’s what all Celtic fans have wanted to see for a while now. They might few but over the last week we’ve seen positive signs for the future and the new season.

Some of the players have returned to Lennoxtown to join with the pre-season training. Obviously some players are still away and playing in the European championships for their countries.

And a number of them are part of the Scotland national team squad, who put in a brilliant performance to come out with a 0-0 draw against England. Hopefully, those players will gain a lot of confidence from the result and the performance.

Ange Postecoglou was at Wembley with Dominic McKay to see the international match. Although he got to see only McGregor, of the Celtic squad, on the pitch on the day, he must have been delighted with the display.

Postecoglou’s Celtic preparations are already underway although he is yet to take to the pitch

Apart from the opportunity to watch the game, it was exciting to see Postecoglou now in the UK and out of quarantine, meeting up with McKay in London and preparing to be in Glasgow this coming week. With previous doubts regarding the late appointment of a manager, it is starting to feel better ahead of the planned training camp in Wales from 5 July.

The draw for the Champions League second round qualifier was also made recently and we will face FC Midtjylland. This has added more excitement ahead of the new season.

Postecoglou also seems to be keen to get going and it looks like preparations have been going well till now. As reported by the club’s official website, he said:

"“I’m keen to hit the ground running and try to get as much work done before I get there, but my own view is that we can’t be more prepared than what we are at the moment in terms of the conditions we’ve had to face.“I’m fully confident that once I hit the ground, we’ll get started and I’m really excited about the fact that we’ve got something to look forward to and a bit of a target there over the next four or five weeks.”"

There is still a lot of work to do though, if the club are to return to challenging for titles in the upcoming season. And a lot of that will depend on the signings that the club end up making over the course of the summer transfer window. Until now, things have been quiet on that end. But sooner or later, it will heat up.
