With Celtic expected to bring in a new manager over the course of the next few months, at this point of time, Eddie Howe looks like the favourite for the Parkhead job.

The manager has a big reputation from his time in England, where he took Bournemouth from the relegation zone of League Two to the Premier League and kept them there for five seasons. That is a massive achievement for anyone. On top of that, his sides are known to play attacking football, which is what would make him perhaps even more attractive for the Hoops.

It has been believed that the club are closing in on his appointment for quite some time now but the saga has dragged on for a while. But it looks like there is a genuine reason behind the delay.

Journalist Alan Nixon tweeted out when asked about an update on Howe’s move to Celtic:

Howe is the favourite to be the next Celtic manager at this point of time

If the Hoops can get a deal for Howe over the line, it would be seen as a major coup. He is very highly rated and even been touted as some as a future England national team manager.

It does look like he wants to bring his backroom staff along with him if he does end up moving to Parkhead and to be honest, it is a very positive sign. It just shows that he is a perfectionist who wants to give himself the best chance to succeed wherever he ends up going.

Let’s just hope it is Celtic where he ends up come next season.
