Here’s how the Celtic players performed as they managed to beat Ross County, getting revenge for their Scottish League Cup elimination.

It was not vintage Celtic by any stretch of the imagination. While you would expect them to beat the bottom-placed Premiership quite easily, you never know this season, considering how bad the Hoops’ form has been.

We got a taste of that earlier, when Ross County managed to eliminate them from the second round of the Scottish League Cup with a shock 2-0 victory, ending Celtic’s chances of winning a treble for the fifth straight year.

The Hoops did manage to turn that scoreline around this time though with goals from David Turnbull and Leigh Griffiths enough to secure all three points. It was not the free flowing, free scoring football that one would expect from Neil Lennon’s side. But at this point of time, a win is all that matters.

After how bad things have been for them this season, the Bhoys are not just going to magically start playing great football. These wins will help build back their confidence though and this new look team could end up starting to produce the performances that we expect from that some way down the line.

For now though, we have to be content with the three points we got out of this game. And of course, a clean sheet, which is a rare sight these days.
