Neil Lennon has provided fans an exciting update about the new Celtic signing heading into this Saturday’s Glasgow Derby.

Celtic are without doubt in a muddle with the game against the Rangers approaching quickly. As things stand, Odsonne Edouard, Nir Bitton and Hatem Elhamed are set to miss the game after testing positive on international duty. Ryan Christie also faces the same fate having adjudged to have come in close contact with Stuart Armstrong while with the the Scotland national team.

James Forrest was already confirmed to have been out with a fractured ankle. On the other hand, Albian Ajeti is in a race against time to get fit before Saturday. While Leigh Griffiths has only made one appearance this season and that too as a substitute. And it will be a surprise to see Mikey Johnston featuring, considering the fact that he has been out for months.

As a result, it goes without saying that Neil Lennon has a highly-weakened squad available to him heading into the first Glasgow Derby of the season. It is all bad news though.

It looks like Neil Lennon has been impressed by Deadline Day signing Diego Laxalt. And while his English might not be good at this point of time, he has some help in training in the form of Olivier Ntcham. Speaking with The Celtic View (14/10, page 7) and as cited by 67 Hail Hail, he said:

"“With Diego for example, his English isn’t great at the minute, so Olivier will be very important to him. You can even see them talking to each other at training, with Olivier helping to explain to him what the drills are and what the premise of the session is.“Diego is a good footballer, he settles into that and sees things very quickly.”"

Once considered one of the most exciting talents in all of Serie A, Laxalt’s career went downhill since moving to AC Milan. But there is no doubt about his talent. You do not make it to that level unless you are a good player.

Now, it is Neil Lennon’s job to get the best out of him. And if that happens, Celtic have a top player on their hands who is capable of storming through the Scottish Premiership.
