Celtic handed major injury boost ahead of Glasgow Derby
There is finally some good news for Celtic as Neil Lennon confirmed that they have been handed a major injury boost heading into the Glasgow Derby.
It is arguable that Neil Lennon has not had a full strength squad yet at his disposal through the course of this season as Celtic’s injury woes continue. There is always someone or the other out but that is to be expected in such a congested schedule. The club have been handed a major injury boost heading into the Glasgow Derby on 17th October.
Albian Ajeti had to come off injured immediately after scoring in the first half against Hibernian though and there were fears that he could miss the Glasgow Derby against the Rangers. And with Odsonne Edouard also seemingly out of the game after testing positive for the coronavirus.
That would have left Neil Lennon with only Leigh Griffiths and Patryk Klimala, although both did came off the bench to rescue the Hoops against St Johnstone a couple of days.
There is some welcome news regarding Ajeti’s injury as it looks like he could be fit in time to feature against the Rangers if Neil Lennon’s optimistic comments are anything to go by. As reported by the Daily Record, the Celtic boss said:
"“Albian is feeling good. I spoke to him Tuesday morning when he came in to do some running and I hope he’ll join us again for training at the end of this week or the start of next week.”"
Albian Ajeti has taken to Scottish football like a duck to water. He has already scored 5 goals since signing from West Ham United earlier in the season and looks like a world class goal poacher with a penchant for always being in the right places to finish chances off. And his inclusion in the game would no doubt be a huge boost for the Bhoys.
At this point it is unclear though whether he will be fit enough to start the game or will just be an option to bring off the bench for Neil Lennon.
