The insider has claimed that there is no truth to the Celtic transfer rumour although there are conflicting reports regarding the matter.

With deadline day tomorrow, clubs around Europe will be working hard to get deals done at the last moment. And the Celtic rumour mill went overboard when news broke out earlier today that the club were in advanced talks to bring West Ham United winger Robert Snodgrass to Parkhead on a season-long loan.

With James Forrest out injured for the foreseeable future, it is not hard to see why Neil Lennon would want the 33-year-old. He offers a short-term fix and brings a wealth of experience with him having played for the likes of Aston Villa, Leeds United, Hull City, Norwich City and West Ham United through the course of his career while also representing the Scottish national team on 28 occasions and scoring 7 goals for them.

As expected, Celtic fans were excited by the possibility of the move and at one stage, it looked like it was as good as done. Radio Clyde’s Alison Conroy has claimed that there is no truth to the rumour:

There seems to be conflicting reports about it though as Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph has claimed that not only are Celtic interested but they even made an offer for Snodgrass last night:

Thus, it will be interesting to see what is true and what is not in this matter. Thankfully we won’t have to wait for too long though as the transfer window slams shut tomorrow.

Whichever may be the case, it looks like Celtic will be busy tomorrow as Neil Lennon has already admitted that the club looking to get moves done on deadline day. And while Snodgrass would represent a shrewd acquisition, left-back should be the real priority for the Hoops at this moment with Greg Taylor being the only option there right now.
