Neil McCann makes bold Celtic vs Rangers title prediction
Neil McCann has made a bold prediction as Celtic aim to lift a tenth straight Scottish league title while the Rangers are desperate to stop them.
It is undeniable that Celtic have not hit top form yet this season as a number of their performances have left a lot to be desired. This should be a cause for concern for the rest of the league though instead of something that they celebrate. Because despite their stumbling start to the season, the Hoops are just one point behind the Rangers with a game in hand.
Neither Celtic nor the Rangers have lost this season and are clearly a cut above the rest of the league. It is arguable thought that Steven Gerrard’s side have already showed their best and even that has not gotten them a significant lead over their rivals. And we know that they are capable of hitting terrible form and falling completely apart in the second half of the season.
But just like every year, the predictions about them finally lifting the league this season have already started coming in this season. And as expected, it is one of their former players – this time in the form of Neil McCann.
McCann believes that Rangers have shown a greater consistency this season and will beat out Celtic to the title as a result of it. When speaking with BBC Sportsound and as reported by 67 Hail Hail, he said:
"“I’ve watched a lot of Celtic this season and I still don’t think they’re flying – that could be ominous to the rest of the league and Rangers. They still get results.“Rangers for me, I think they’ll win the league, yeah. I think they will win it but they have to show the level of consistency that Celtic have shown and last season they fell short.”"
Of course, these rumblings of Rangers finally being good enough to challenge Celtic for the title are nothing new. In fact, we have listened to the same chatter for quite some time now. May be they are better this time around, may be they are not. Only time shall tell. Until then, feel free to take such predictions with a pinch of salt.
