Neil Lennon stepped in and spoke with Albian Ajeti when it looked like the player was backing away from signing for Celtic. Has Lennon been using his influence again to get a top drawer talent to see the opportunity for them at Celtic?
Lennon could now be the important key to securing Ryan Sessegnon on loan from Spurs.
Celtic have made an approach for Tottenham left-back Ryan Sessegnon – but it is believed the finances of any potential deal have proved problematic.

During the summer months we all saw the long drawn out story with many twists and turns along the way of whether Albian Ajeti would join Celtic on loan. It all looked likely then seemed to fall apart when the player went on holiday rather than fly north for a medical. Expert pundits doubted the likelihood of Celtic getting an EPL player in on loan. They were right, we didn’t, he signed a full contract.
The signing happened and it is believed Ajeti’s confidence in the move being right for him was all sealed by Lennon intervening and talking to the player to sell the Celtic vision.

Neil Lennon held further talks with the player’s agent last night.
Lennon’s intervention has convinced Ajeti to choose Celtic.
Could be done early next week.
The question now is whether that Lennon influence can be applied to help Ryan Sessegnon join the Hoops in what could be a sensational deal. According to Football Insider Lennon has already spoken to the player. And the report indicates that Sessegnon is keen and wants a deal to be struck.
"“Tottenham star Ryan Sessegnon is set to push for a move to Celtic as he eyes a regular starting role at an elite club.”"
Clearly there is a lot more work to be done to finance a deal, but Lennon wouldn’t have been speaking with Sessegnon if the possibilities of getting something over the line weren’t likely. We know Jose Mourhino has indicated the player can go out on loan. We know he is highly rated and would be a superb addition to the left for Celtic, both defensively and attack. This could fall flat on its face as a deal quickly or be an amazing end to the transfer window.
