The manager has confirmed that the player reported Celtic transfer target could end up leaving the club in the current transfer window.

Celtic have already pulled off some decent signings in the current transfer window but there are still a couple of positions in the squad with holes in them which the club will be hoping to fill before the market slams shut in a week.

The first of them is of course at left-back. Greg Taylor is the only option they have in the position right now with both Jonny Hayes and Boli Bolingoli having left through the course of the summer. And the Scot has not been very convincing himself in the games that he has played in. As a result, it might not be the worst idea to bring in some back up in place for him.

The club cannot overlook the wings in search of a left-back though. With both Mikey Johnston and James Forrest out injured, that leaves only Mohamed Elyounoussi and Karamoko Dembele. And while a traditional winger is not required in the 3-5-2 that Lennon has deployed in the past few games, with Ajeti out injured for some time as well, he might be forced to return to playing a 4-2-3-1.

One man who the Hoops have been linked with recently is FC Utrecht winger, Gyrano Kerk. The Dutch winger was very impressive last season, scoring 11 goals and providing 12 assists in just 30 appearances. And Celtic had even made an offer for him according to the comments of Utrecht owner, Frans van Seumeren, as reported in The Scottish Sun:

"“Lots of clubs asked about Kerk, but they never turned into actual offers. The only club who made a concrete offer was Celtic.”"

Now as quoted by De Telegraaf, Utrecht manager has admitted that Kerk could be on the move in this window:

"“Gyrano, in this form, with his qualities and sharpness, is a very important player for us. A lot is happening around him. If you can continue to deliver this for the club you love, for the group of players and also for yourself, I think that’s great.“Gy is an interesting guy for many teams and I can see him taking the next step. Let me start by saying that I don’t hope he will go, but it could just happen.”"

Leeds United reportedly are also interested in the winger and if Celtic do want to get their man, they will have to move quick. It is unlikely though that the Hoops will be willing to pay the reported £8-million asking price unless someone ends up leaving Parkhead in a mega-money move, which is not entirely impossible.
