The Celtic superstar has looked out of form lately and was called out by a pundit following last night’s performance against Riga.

More often than not this season Celtic have found themselves relying on the individual quality of its players to get through games. The team has not quite gelled yet and Neil Lennon’s tactics have not worked out. As a result, the performances have not been quite up to the mark.

One man who has individual ability in spades is Odsonne Edouard. But things have not quite come off for him either. The Frenchman scored a hattrick on the opening day but has looked off-colour since then, even missing a penalty against St Mirren.

Thus, it is no surprise that questions are being raised about the striker already. One pundit even went as far as to claim that playing with him right now was like playing with a man down.

There is no doubt that Edouard is going through a rough patch at the moment. There have been questions surrounding his fitness as well as his future at Celtic. But we all know what the Frenchman is about and on his day, he has proved that he can win matches on his own. Thus, it is time for the supporters to back him and give him some time to play himself into form.

A lot of the media is trying to disgruntle him like they always have. There were questions about his attitude at the start of last season as well and it is safe to say it did not take Edouard long to silence his critics.

Hopefully he will do the same this season as well and find himself at his best very soon. With the 10IAR challenge coming up, there is no denying that Celtic need the Frenchman firing on all cylinders.
