Celtic have been linked with the FC Barcelona wonderkid recently and could have the chance to land him on a bargain deal.

Having completed some impressive business in the transfer window already by bringing in the likes of David Turnbull, Albian Ajeti and Vasilis Barkas while also securing the services of Shane Duffy on a season-long loan, Celtic fans should be happy with the upgrade that the club has made to its squad. This season is special though and the board will be expected to push even further to put the strongest team possible.

Now it would not be realistic to expect that the club will go out and splash a lot more cash in the current transfer window. Do not be surprised though if the club end up managing to do some shrewd business despite that.

One man who has been recently linked with Celtic is FC Barcelona’s Alex Collado by the Scottish Daily Mail (23/09, back page and p86). The winger has came out through the club’s famed youth system but has found it difficult to make the jump to the first-team like so many before him. Thus, his future might be somewhere else and fans will be hoping that that is Glasgow.

Collado is a left-footed right-winger who is known for his incredible dribbling abilities. Last season, he scored five goals and assisted a further five, even making his first-team debut although that would go on to be his only senior appearance till now.

And with a huge number of changes being brought at FC Barcelona this season, with established stars like Luis Suarez, Ivan Rakitic and Aleix Vidal being let go of for next to nothing (around a combined €8 million) , Celtic would fancy their chances of getting a bargain deal done for the 21-year-old. While he is rated at €4.5 million by Transfermarkt, there is all the possibility in the world that the fee could be negotiated down quite a bit.

The Hoops are not the only ones after his signature though as nine other teams are thought to be after the Spanish winger.
