After Sky Sports have already requested the kick-off time be delayed 30 minutes for TV, it looks like Celtic’s match could be postponed further.

Celtic were originally set to face off with the St Johnstone in Perth on Friday, October 2 with a kick-off for 7:45 pm. Sky Sports have now requested the match be shifted 30 minutes later for TV broadcasts to 8:15 pm.

However, with Celtic’s upcoming Europa League 3rd qualifying round match taking place on September 24, the match between the Hoops and Saints could end up being postponed all together pending the results of Celtic’s Europa match.

Celtic are set to face the winners of Thursday’s match between Latvian club Riga and San Marino side Tre Fiori in that match. If the Hoops win the game as they are likely expected to do against either of the two smaller clubs, their next European match will be set for an October 1 match, likely leading to the October 2 match with St. Johnstone being delayed to a further date as reported by the Daily Record.

While the match being moved likely won’t have a vast impact on the club, it is one Hoops fans should watch for in regards to watching the Bhoys’ efforts away in Perth.

The Hoops have quite the busy run of matches in the coming weeks. With league matches against St. Mirren, Livingston, and Hibernian, Celtic look to continue their recent good form, coming off of back-to-back routs of Motherwell (3-0) and Ross County (5-0), while also securing all three points in a tough away contest against St Mirren riding on the back of goals from

Celtic will also look to rebound in European play after their shock loss to Ferencvaros in Champions League play last month, with the aforementioned qualifying match upcoming next week. These Europa League qualifiers are of paramount importance as losing would see the Hoops out of Europe altogether for the season.
