Vasilis Barkas – 7 Looked confident and in control. Keen to get the ball out quickly.

Greg Taylor – 5 Adept at turning back and passing to Ajer. Not his best game, to be fair several passes out to him were fired high over his head. That wasteful play needs to be cut out by others. Celtic do need to pursue  another left back.

Shane Duffy – 7 Another goal, looked strong. Will get better.

Kris Ajer – 7 A decent game. Looked to get forward when he could.

Scott Brown – 6 Didn’t seem at his best. Gave away a needless booking.

Callum McGregor – 7 Busy, neat and tidy. Tried to raise the pace of the game.

Ryan Christie – 6 A quiet game by his standards. Worked hard but wasteful at times.

Odsonne Edouard – 6 Skilful play, couldn’t get past a busy and full defence. Looked sharper in the second half but should have done better with his penalty and free kick. Replaced by Ntcham.

Patryk Klimala – 5 Didn’t see much of him. Forgot he was playing for a while. He did seem to have lost some of his bulked up look he had on return to pre season. Maybe that’s related to the fitness question mark when Lennon left him out of a couple of games. Replaced by Ajeti.

Hatem Abd Elhamed – 5 Not his usual self. Have the ball away too often, can get forward and defend much better than this.

James Forrest – 6 Usual performance of late. Still seems to cut in too often and despite his goal it felt as if he should offer or deliver more. Quiet second half until replaced by Frimpong.

Substitutes

Albian Ajeti – 5  (65 min.) Comes alive in the box, but had very limited opportunities. Needs to be brought into play there more often. Was left as line striker after Edouard went off, that didn’t seem to suit his style.

Olivier Ntcham – 4 (80 min.) Quiet.

Jeremie Frimpong – 5 (80 min.) Looked his usual lively self when on the ball and should have been on much earlier.

Celtic will need to do better next time out, expect to see a different selection to start the game.

Read. Celtic have open shot to sign former star. light
