Shane Duffy was well worth the hype

The mountain of a defender signed on a season-long loan from Brighton last week and has immediately made an impact on the Hoops. While he did appear a bit rusty at times (he hasn’t had a league appearance since January), he seemed to provide quite the boost in defense as well as help to improve Jullien and Ajer’s play alongside him.

The boyhood Celtic fan’s commanding presence in defense, and towering height in the box, was an integral part of the shutout Celtic gave Ross County today, especially considering it was his first start with a new team and formation.

Yet, he wouldn’t stop there. Adding a goal in the 59th minute, Shane headed in beautifully to the dismay of the 300 Ross County fans in attendance.

Well worth the hype thus far, Duffy looks to be a huge boost to the Bhoys’ quest for a historic tenth-straight. Still yet, as just a loan player, Hoops fans should be wary to fall in love too quickly with his performances.
