Neil Lennon’s transfer confession about the club’s potential future business in the current transfer window will concern Celtic fans.

It is undeniable that Celtic have done some great business in this transfer window. They managed to extend the loan deal of Mohamed Elyounoussi from Southampton for another season. Then, they also secured permanent deals for Vasilis Barkas, Albian Ajeti and David Turnbull for a combined fee of around £12 million.

The crowned jewel of the window though was perhaps the signing of Shane Duffy on a season-long loan from Brighton and Hove Albion. If Celtic fans were told at the start of the season that they would sign a proven Premier League centre-back, most of them would have probably not believed it.

That does not mean though that this squad is perfect. And with 10IAR on the line, perfection is what Celtic should be aiming to put out on the pitch.

Two positions probably need more urgent reinforcement than most – left-back and right-wing. With Bolingoli unlikely to ever put on a Celtic shirt again, a left-back is a must at this point. Especially with Greg Taylor not looking entirely convincing. On the other hand, there is not any competition for James Forrest.

Speaking during his media conference, Neil Lennon has admitted though that he would not mind if the club does not sign any more new players in the current transfer window. When asked if they were looking to make any more signings, the Celtic boss said:

"“Maybe but if not I’m very very happy with the squad that I have at the minute.”"

It would be a blow though if Celtic decide not to sign another left-back at least. That is a position that the club can easily upgrade on judging by Taylor’s performances. And this might not be the best time to penny-pinch. 10IAR is something that the club cannot afford to risk at any cost.
