Arsenal have made a bid for Odsonne Edouard to Celtic but it is unlikely that the club will let the Frenchman go at that price.
Celtic would not want to lose Odsonne Edouard in any scenario with 10IAR season upon us. But the fact of the matter is that if a huge bid comes in for the striker, the club will have a hard time keeping hold on to him, considering the fact that he has less than two years left on his contract.
While the global pandemic might have crashed markets worldwide, the Premier League clubs seem to be unaffected. We have already seen Chelsea break the game by bringing in the likes of Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell. On the other hand, we have seen Aston Villa sign Ollie Watkins for £33 million despite him never having played top flight football.
Where does that put Odsonne Edouard’s transfer value though? He has proven himself to be the best player in Scotland already while his 13 goals in 8 appearances for the France under-21 team speak for themselves. So one would think that that put his value at at least around the £40 million mark.
Apparently not in the eyes of Arsenal though who have submitted a £22 million bid for Edouard according to some reports.
At that price though, Celtic should not even consider letting Edouard go. They can get more than that even if he does not sign a new contract. And if he does, combined with a good 10IAR season hopefully, his value will only go up.
