The pundit has hinted that Neil Lennon has never rated the Celtic man despite his impressive achievements through the course of his career.
It is undeniable that Neil Lennon has never quite won the Celtic fans over as a manager. Yes, he has been very good in domestic competitions. But that is expected with how good the squad is compared to other Scottish sides.
Celtic’s performances in Europe have left a lot to be desired though with the club crashing out of the Champions League qualifying rounds two years in a row with Neil Lennon as manager. And a lot of the blame lies on his shoulders – playing Callum McGregor at left-back last season against CFR Cluj and no striker this time around against Ferencvaros.
One of the biggest problems with Neil Lennon is his stubbornness at times as he likes to stick to the same team most of the time and appears to lack flexibility when required. As a result, a lot of the players who probably deserve a lot more chances can only hope to feed on scraps in meaningless matches and at the end of games that have already been won.
One of those players is Tom Rogic. The Australian was a huge part of this team under Brendan Rodgers but has fallen way down the pecking order since the arrival of Lennon. And while his injuries have certainly played a part, it is hard not to feel that the manager does not quite rate him.
And those suspicions have found a backer in the form of Scott McDonald. As reported by The Scottish Sun, the former Celtic man said:
"“Between him and Neil Lennon, it’s a funny one. I don’t think he played much the first time Neil was there, although he was a lot younger then.“Lenny is obviously going for someone he feels has got more legs and you can’t really argue with Ryan Christie’s performances.“But in terms of Celtic’s squad, if you lose Tom it’s looking a bit threadbare.“Especially in those key areas where Rogic is a match winner and can come on and change a game for you.”"
Rogic appeared already on his way out to Qatar but that move has fallen through. That does not rule him out of leaving Celtic at some point in this transfer window.
