Odsonne Edouard’s transfer value might be set to skyrocket within the next month and that will only be a positive for Celtic going forward.

The 22-year-old French striker now has 13 goals in his eight appearances for their Under-21 squad since 2019. The first of his most recent goals came on Friday, scoring a stoppage-time penalty to push the team to a 2-0 victory in the UEFA Euro U-21’s against Georgia.

Odsonne refused to stop there, however, netting another penalty goal in the first half against Azerbaijan in yesterday’s 2-1 win.

His side now sits at second in their group’s qualifying table, level on points with Switzerland’s U-21’s with upcoming matches against Liechtenstein and Slovakia in mid-October.

A likely future star for the reigning World Cup champions, Edouard has already made his mark on French football, winning the 2015 UEFA U-17 Championship Golden Boot and Best Player Awards.

If things continue in this manner then it is only a matter of time before Edouard, it should only be a matter of time before he gets a call to the France senior team. Maybe even as soon as next month. And in that case, his transfer value will only skyrocket, if or when he does decide to leave Celtic.

Not the only Hoop currently enjoying the international break, Mo Elyounoussi also managed to score in the opening minutes of Norway’s 5-1 Nations League victory over Northern Ireland, as well as Ryan Christie’s penalty goal for Scotland against the Czech Republic yesterday.

Odsonne played an integral role in the Hoops’ title run last season, scoring a league-high 22 goals for Neil Lennon’s Bhoys. He looks set to repeat his success this season with three goals through the first three matches of the league thus far, with him expected to return to Celtic action against Ross County this weekend.

Arsenal are just the latest club rumored to be after the star striker, potentially as a replacement if fellow French striker Alexandre Lacazette were to leave the London club.

RumoUrs have also been swirling of potential contract talks, allegedly hinging on the club including a hefty release clause.
