After finally completing his transfer to Celtic, David Turnbull has made an admission about his move falling through the first time around.

It was a move over a year in the making. David Turnbull had to go through one of the hardest things ever as a player as his move to Celtic fell through due to a knee injury when it had appeared that it was all but done.

Turnbull came flying out of the blocks in what was his first full season as a professional. The then teenager scored 16 goals and provided 7 assists in what was a magnificent campaign. As a result, it looked like he was on his way to the Scottish champions in a big money move.

Unfortunately, that did not take place as a knee injury kept him out for almost the entirety of last season. And something like that would have shattered the confidence of a lesser player.

Turnbull though seems to have all the confidence in the world in his abilities. And after showing that the injury had not slowed him down, he ultimately earned his dream move again and will be raring to go for the Hoops this season, having not made his debut yet.

Speaking with The Celtic View, Turnbull has claimed that he was always confident that the chance to move to the Scottish champions would eventually come again:

"“I was confident a chance like this could come around again, especially when I was back training. After all of the horrible stuff, I had it in my head that this was my aim and my goal and I knew nothing was going to change footballing ability-wise.“Luckily, I’ve come back and it’s all worked out. I’m just delighted. I’ll never take anything for granted ever again, training, playing games, everything about football. I want to take in everything that happens, on and off the park, and just enjoy it as much as I can, and not look back.“Now, I just want to get myself as much game time as I can. I want to give as much as I can for the team, and I want to help them push for silverware in this important season. I’m looking to kick on and give more competition to the squad.”"

This just goes on to show that the 21-year-old has the mentality of a player destined for the very top combined with his abilities. And very few are blessed with both.
