Celtic to make second bid as Lennon pushes for transfer
Celtic are set to go back with a second bid for the highly-rated youngster as Neil Lennon appears to be pushing for the transfer.
In recent times, one thing Celtic have certainly been not is relentless in the transfer market. Very often, the club’s moves fall through as their policy is too inefficient and a lot of the times they find themselves penny pinching before someone else swoops in and gets their man. The saga surrounding John McGinn would be fresh in the minds of a lot of fans.
With 10IAR on the line though, it seems that the club are turning over a new leaf. At least for this season.
They have already brought in the likes of Vasilis Barkas, Albian Ajeti and David Turnbull in deals worth a total of around £12 million. And while it is no secret that a lot of funds are not available at Parkhead. But they have managed to do some good business on the loan market as well.
Mohamed Elyounoussi’s loan deal was extended for another season while Shane Duffy has also been brought in on a season-long deal in what was a dream move for both the player and the fans.
The business is not over there though as left-back is a position that the club would like to improve upon. And PSG’s Dutch left-back Mitchel Bakker is the man that Celtic seem to want.
Celtic have already made a loan bid for Bakker but that was rejected. The French champions have kept the door open though to a move if a better offer is made, they might change their minds. And as reported by the Daily Record, the Hoops will indeed be coming in with a second bid.
Bakker seems to be high on Neil Lennon’s wish list and it is good to see that Celtic are going back in for one of their top targets instead of settling for a second choice.
