AS Roma reportedly interested in unwanted Celtic player
AS Roma are reportedly interested in the Celtic player, who the club have had a hard time finding a buyer for in the current transfer window.
Football is a weird sport most of the time. But even the most optimistic Celtic fan would not have seen this transfer rumour coming at the start of the day. After struggling to find a new home for him through the course of the transfer window, Boli Bolingoli might not only be on the way out but apparently it is AS Roma who are interested in his services!
As things stand, Roma are set to let Aleksandar Kolarov leave for Inter Milan and have identified Boli Bolingoli as the man to fill the gap at left-back following the Serbian’s departure according to Tutto Mercato Web. Why? We have no clue!
Not only has this transfer rumour cropped up completely out of the blue, but it also sounds like something that is too good to be true. It is safe to say that Bolingoli has not been a spectacular performer since joining Celtic last summer for a fee of around £3 million, a fee the club will be lucky to recoup in a future sale.
As a result, the fact that a club the size of AS Roma actually want him is mind-boggling. Especially after the stunt he pulled off earlier in the season by taking a trip to Spain without informing the club officials and then featuring in a match when he should have been quarantining.
Why AS Roma are interested should not be Celtic’s problem though and they should let go of the Belgian as soon as they can if the rumours are indeed true. The fact that it is the Italian giants might also mean that they can recoup a part of if not all of the transfer fee that they had paid Rapid Vienna a little over a year ago.
