Tom Rogic’s Celtic transfer exit saga has dragged on for a long time now and it has taken another twist at the very last moment.

It is no secret that Tom Rogic has been looking for a way out of Celtic in this transfer window. A combination of injuries and bad form have meant that the Australian has not been a part of first-team plans for the past year or so. Many would even argue that he has not been given a fair shake since the arrival of Neil Lennon after Brendan Rodgers left the club hanging out in the dry in the middle of the season.

For some time now it has been thought that the Aussie midfielder’s next destination is Qatar, with a number of sources linking him with the move and Neil Lennon even admitting in public that the club had accepted a bid. But it now looks like the move could be off as Rogic is having second thoughts about moving to a lower level league according to reports in The Scottish Sun.

Now, at the top of his game there is no doubt that Rogic is a top player. But unfortunately he has not been at that level for quite a while and after the arrival of David Turnbull, his opportunities at Parkhead are going to be limited even further.

It will be interesting to see though what the future holds for Rogic now. The fact that he is having second thoughts does not mean that the deal is off. After all, the media did make the same claims about Albian Ajeti before his move to Celtic. Make of that what you will.

It might even be possible that Rogic moves to somewhere else in Europe. For a man of his qualities, there should not be a lack of suitors.
