Celtic Player Ratings vs Ferencvaros: Another UCL exit
By Kade Kistner
Vasilis Barkas: 5.5
The goalkeeper had his first real test. He made some questionable decisions that could have led to additional goals. He didn’t play the ball well off out of his feet on occasions and the second goal against Ferencvaros seemed to have been misplayed. Seemingly stuck to his line, Barkas seemed out of his element against stronger competition.
Christopher Jullien: 6
One of the biggest complaints against Jullien is that he isn’t physical enough. That was on full display Wednesday evening. He wasn’t terrible, but the opposing offence was able to capitalise.
Greg Taylor: 6.5
Faring slightly better, Taylor was largely a non-factor in the match. He did little on either side of the pitch to influence the match. Celtic is used to having an impact player in that position and the last two seasons now that has not been the case. The Hoops will need a more dynamic play-maker in the position to help them advance into Europe.
Scott Brown: 7
The last few matches have had supporters raising their eyebrows at Brown’s fitness. He looked better on Wednesday and helped control the pace of the match. The midfield early on was having trouble making even simple passes. Brown helped them settle in with a good pace and gave the squad a fighting stretch down the line. There are still a lot of questions regarding him heading into a long season though.
