Shane Duffy’s brother has dropped the biggest hint yet that the Republic of Ireland international is on his way to Celtic.

Rumours about Shane Duffy’s transfer to Celtic have been doing the rounds for quite a while now and now it looks like the move might finally be set through. The Republic of Ireland international is a boyhood Celtic fan and it seems like he is interested in being a part of the club’s historic 10IAR season.

Celtic on the other hand have stumbled out of the blocks. They had a comfortable 5-1 win on Flag Day against Hamilton Academical but things have gone somewhat downhill since then. They drew the game away at Rugby Park against Kilmarnock in a toothless display and then had a hard-fought 1-0 win against Dundee United.

On top of all this, they also find themselves chasing the pack as two of their games were cancelled as a result of Boli Bolingoli’s secret trip to Spain. And now they cannot afford another misstep.

In these past two games, two areas have emerged as Celtic’s weaknesses. The first is the lack of creativity against teams that sit back. And the second is the inability of the defenders to handle physical forwards.

That is where Shane Duffy comes in. The no nonsense defender will certainly improve this defence, whether it is 4-2-3-1 or a 3-5-2 that Neil Lennon is planning to deploy going forward. Currently at Brighton and Hove Albion, the move will surely not come cheap as a £2 million loan fee has been touted. We now have the biggest hint yet though that the move could be nearing:

Shane Duffy posted this image from inside a plane earlier today on his Instagram story and at the same time, his brother Tony Duffy posted the Celtic crest on his story. His brother’s story has since been deleted though, which is not surprising since all parties will like to keep things on the low before anything is made official.

In this situation, it is pretty easy to put two and two together. And hopefully, the move is completed as soon as possible because we need the big man in our team.
