Celtic want to take the major step before next week’s game against Motherwell and an announcement could be made pretty soon.

The global pandemic has shook the world up, changing every aspect of our lives with a nickname that has stuck: “The New Normal.” People were starting to get itchy feet months ago and some countries are now looking to ease restrictions a little. The Daily Record reported on a thaw in corona virus regulations as they unfold this week, as first minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed that all sports grounds would begin opening again on September 14.

The fans have always been revered around the world for their passion, that extra kick of energy that really pushes the players of Celtic forward. A spell that is desperately needed for the ten-in-a-row push given the mixed results we have experienced in the season so far.

Players like Elyounoussi have commented on what its like playing a match to the cheers of an artificial crowd, its doable but not the same. Because we cannot put the magic in a bottle the team wants the fans to make their long awaited to Celtic Park and all the stadiums away on the road to 10IAR.

Rugby bosses are looking to roll ahead with the second leg of a PRO 14 double header between Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh next week. It’s an encouraging step in the direction of things getting back on track and The Bhoys want in on this leap forward.

Celtic are locking horns with Motherwell next weekend at Parkhead, it is a pilot event for the reintroduction of the fans to football. They have been working on containment measures with the SRU and want to put them into practice in the upcoming match.

The details are getting ironed out over the next 24 hours, the football bosses and St Andrew’s House are looking for the best way to keep the fans safe ahead of kickoff. Traffic will definitely be an issue, as will the queues for the bathroom, it will be interesting to see what plans the authorities come up with and if it becomes “The New Normal” for the Premiership.

They’re starting small, seeing how they get on managing 1,000 fans per event going forward as reported by the Daily Record:

"“It’s all about proving to the Government and the health experts that robust plans can be put in place which will allow fans to watch games without risking public health.“It’s also important that fans are given the confidence of knowing that all possible measures are being taken to make sure they can safely get back to supporting their teams.”"

A small step but certainly one in the right direction.
