Australia’s international manager, Graham Arnold, has hinted at a potential reason behind Tom Rogic’s Celtic exit rumours.

Celtic could potentially lose out on the abilities and versatility of Tom Rogic as talk has swirled about his potential exit. Rumours are that £4 million have been offered to the Hoops to see Rogic make a move to Qatar.

Rogic has been one of the Celtic fan favourites and offers versatility and quality cover for the midfield. However, he has seen his playing time significantly decrease and that doesn’t look to recover anytime soon. As such, it would be natural for either the club, player or both to want to find a solution.

It appears that solution is for Rogic to make the move to the Middle East. What is odd is that Celtic could use his services down the line. This season is not only filled with importance such as the pursuit of the 10IAR and Champions League Group Stages, but it is also a jam packed schedule.

It appears if Rogic wanted to stay then the club would surely let him stick around for the 10IAR. However, Australia’s international manager, Graham Arnold, has recently spoken with the Sydney Herald on why the midfielder may want to leave Parkhead:

"“At the end of the day it’s his career and we’re here to advise him and speak to him about it.“The competitions in the Middle East are coming on very, very quickly and they’re very strong, and with a lot of good players.“The most important thing for me is that Tommy gets the smile back on his face and the enjoyment back in his game, and that he’s also going to play football.“At the moment at Celtic, it doesn’t look he’s going to play much and he’s had a season last year of on-and-off playing. The year before that, he had a lot of injuries.”"

Later on Arnold threw another interesting tid-bit about Rogic’s happiness:

"“He’s a guy that really thinks long and hard about that stuff and a very happy Tommy Rogic off the field is a great Tommy Rogic on the field. That’s an important part for him.”"

It can be incredibly frustrating to ride the bench as a professional athlete, but there just doesn’t appear to be a consistent way to get Rogic involved at a clip that would satisfy him as things currently stand. This club is a better team with Rogic on it, but one can’t expect a competitor to be content with never playing.

If Celtic can get something for Rogic and the player ultimately is happy then it would appear to be in the best interests of both parties. As a Hoops fan though, it’s crushing.
