Celtic’s chances of loaning out Bolingoli suffers major blow
Celtic have suffered another blow in their quest to get rid of Boli Bolingoli after he got the club into trouble by travelling to Spain in secret.
It would not be a stretch to say that the majority of Celtic fans do not want to see Boli Bolingoli playing for the club ever again. The Belgian embarrassed the club last week by travelling to Spain without telling the officials about it and then played against Kilmarnock when he should have instead been quarantining.
The incident sent shock waves through Scottish football with the government even warning that the season could be shelved if things did not improve. And since then, Celtic fans have been calling for Bolingoli to be sacked immediately. Such a move though could result in the club suffering financial losses and instead loaning him out is what they seem to have planned for him.
Hopes of the fans had been raised earlier when it appeared that Amiens had made a loan offer with an option to buy him at the end of the deal. It was something that sounded too good to be true considering what had transpired just days back and in this case, it was indeed.
After news broke out that Bolingoli would likely be handed a lengthy ban for his actions, as reported by Sky Sports Neil Lennon claimed that he was not aware of any loan offer from the French side. Still, Celtic fans would have been holding out hope that the manager was holding the cards close to his chest until a move was done. There seems to be no hope left for that though as Amiens have signed Liverpool left-back Adam Lewis as reported by Glasgow Live.
This is a huge blow for the Hoops, who are surely desperate to get rid of the left-back. But the problem is, his underwhelming showings for Celtic combined with his recent actions means that not too many clubs will probably be interested in taking a gamble on him. Thus, do not expect Celtic to have an easy time of selling him.
