Celtic have made concrete offer for another goalkeeper

Celtic have made a concrete offer for another goalkeeper even after the arrival of Vasilis Barkas early this summer window.
Celtic have their eye on another goalkeeper even with the new arrival of Vasilis Barkas as well as the presence of Scott Bain on the bench. However, the Hoops have reportedly made a ‘concrete’ offer for AS Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen according to Calcio Casteddu.
While Barkas has done well against Kilmarnock, as well as Tuesday night against KR Reykjavík in the Champions League Qualifier, there is still some question marks surrounding Bain. The preseason looks coupled with the Hamilton match to start the season leave something to be desired.
What is confusing is the club spent £5 million on Barkas to bring him in to be the starting goalkeeper. Olsen has fallen out of favour in Rome and the club has brought in Pau Lope to be the main man. Olsen is likely looking to be a first-team star once again, but it is hard to imagine that Celtic is the place for that to happen.
It would seem to be against common sense to bring in the 30-year-old Olsen on a season-long loan after having just spent a relatively large sum on Barkas. If Olsen is wanting a move out of Rome and just wants to ride the bench, then he could provide excellent cover in the case something happens to Barkas.
With a concrete offer reportedly already in from the Hoops’ side there seems to be some credence to this offer. However, it remains to be seen how Celtic plans on utilizing Olsen and then if the player even has any interest in making the move to Glasgow.
This has been an interesting summer in which the club has seen a lot of exits and only two new players brought in. Olsen could be the third.
