Celtic left-back Boli Bolingoli’s future has been determined at the club just days after he secretly visited Spain without club knowledge.

All Celtic fans should know the story at this point. Leftback Boli Bolingoli secretly took a day-trip to Spain during the time given off by manager Neil Lennon last week. He returned from there to take the pitch against Kilmarnock without quarantining.

His incredibly idiotic behaviour has garnered criticism from his coaches, teammates and most importantly the Hoops supporters. The most recent question has now become “what does the club do with Bolingoli?”

Most supporters want to see his contract ripped up and see him on his way. Others think a loan for the season could be appropriate considering it would be hard imagining a club taking such a PR risk on bringing the player in permanently. This is all taking into account that his actions directly affected two matches and for a minute put European competition in question (it could still be barring positive tests).

His future has now been reportedly decided by the Celtic manager in conjunction with Chief Executive Peter Lawwell. According to the Daily Record the club will loan out Bolingoli to a club yet to be named. This seems like the best course of action as it gets the player out of the locker room and thus out of sight and out of mind.

This all comes on the heels of eight Aberdeen players going out to the city-centre pubs and then two of them subsequently testing positive for COVID-19. If that wasn’t a big enough hint for Bolingoli then he should have looked at the outrage that was garnered when teammate Leigh Griffiths threw a small birthday party for his girlfriend.

With so much on the line this season, Bolingoli should be ashamed of his actions. We know the supporters are.
