Celtic’s transfer business looks set to pick up and there is one position in particular that they are looking to strengthen in.

The early portion of Celtic’s transfer business has mostly concerned letting go of players who they feel do not have a future at the club. Till now, the Hoops have only extended the loan deal of Mohamed Elyounoussi and signed Vasilis Barkas, a huge reason for which was because they could not extend the loan deal of Fraser Forster as well.

It looks like business is about to pick up though as the club dropped a couple of points very early in the season as a result of the 1-1 draw away at Rugby Park against Kilmarnock. Reports have already broken out that the Hoops are very close to strengthening their forward ranks but the defence is another area of concern for the Hoops as well.

Yesterday’s game showed that Ajer and Jullien are not very good dealing with a physical striker and that will be a cause for worry for Neil Lennon. And while another centre-back is already confirmed to be on his wishlist, that is not the only defensive position he is looking to improve in.

Writing in his Daily Mail column and as reported by the Daily Record, Kris Commons said:

"“Beyond the centre-backs, Greg Taylor is a solid left-back but he’s obviously a downgrade on Kieran Tierney.“I know for a fact that the club are currently in the market for another left-back, so you’d have to think Boli Bolingoli would be on his way out the door if an offer came in."

Left-back certainly is a position of weakness in this Celtic squad. Neither Greg Taylor nor Boli Bolingoli have shown enough to nail down a spot in the first team. And the club would actually do very well to go out and recruit another player in that position, even if it meant letting one of the two leave.
