Celtic manager Neil Lennon has been especially impressed by one of his players after preseason and early season performances.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon is quick to call players out who are under-performing or not doing what is expected just as quick as he is to call out exceptional performance. One example is when striker Leigh Griffiths showed up out of fitness ahead of the preseason France trip only to give praise when he returned in shape.

The most recent praise comes for striker Patryk Klimala. The striker was brought in during the winter transfer in January, but never saw much playing time due to the effectiveness of Odsonne Edouard and Griffiths up top. But he has proven this season that he will be a large part of the club’s success.

Klimala worked hard during the offseason by adding muscle and strength in order to make a case for his inclusion into the first team at a much higher rate. That extra work has not gone unnoticed as he performed well in France and already has a goal to his name in the regular season when he scored in the 89th minute against Hamilton.

His performance and work ethic has also not gone unnoticed by Lennon who gave him some praise while speaking with the Celtic View:

"“You can see that he’s bulked up and is taking on board what he needs to do.”“He’s so hungry. And, do you know what, while it’s a great run and he’s done brilliantly to hold the defender off, it’s a great finish. He takes it early and catches the goalkeeper by surprise. By doing so, he totally outwits the goalkeeper and it’s a top-class finish from a difficult angle.“He can be absolutely delighted with that. We are! And again, that’s testament to the work he’s been doing over the break and into pre-season until now. He’s hungry, he knows what he needs to and wants to improve on.”"

Klimala is certainly looking to be a big part of this club as well as it success this season. For six months the Polish striker had to endure how he was a waste of money and would never be utlized by the club. Instead of sulking, he quickly got to work and in just one match, in fact in just four minutes against Hamilton, proved why he will be such a valuable asset for this club this year.
