One player who has been heavily linked with Celtic as of recent is no longer a possibility according to the player’s agent.

Celtic have been linked with quite a few players this transfer window, but one in particular seemed like a done-deal of sorts. West Ham striker Albian Ajeti was connected to the Hoops with a season-long loan deal with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season for £5 million.

However, those talks seemed to have been down played when the player himself said he wanted to take some time and think about all of his options. Naturally, this led to many insisting that Ajeti should no longer be considered for a future with Celtic.

Well, it seems that the discussions, or even the possibility of an Ajeti arrival at Parkhead is all but dead. Ajeti’s agent has declared that there is nothing on their end in the works. Celtic need reinforcements for the season and potentially another striker if the Hoops do indeed sell Odsonne Edouard.

Speaking with Sky Sports, here is what Ajeti’s agent, Arber Sakiri, had to say regarding any potential move:

"“For the moment, there is nothing to say. He is still a player of West Ham.“It is normal that we have some calls here and some calls there and people are talking about this.“It is also normal that people are talking about something and some interest here or there, maybe that’s true. From our side, there is nothing to say.”"

There are a plethora of options out there for Celtic to make deals for. The Celtic board are still clearly interested in a striker as they have knocked on the door of seemingly every quality striker in their budget.

However, many would argue that if Edouard is intended to stay with the club then the most needed acquisition would be along the back line.
