When you think he couldn’t say any more negative things about Celtic, media pundit Charlie Nicholas has gone and done it again.

Despite being a former-Celtic man himself, Charlie Nicholas has been known to cause ire among many of the Hoops supporters base due to his routinely negative comments surrounding the club. Every few weeks there are new comments about how Nicholas believes Celtic are heading for disaster.

Well, that hasn’t changed and he just released some new comments that actually hold some water. As we all know by now, fans will likely not be let into the stadium for the majority of the seasons, at least not at a normal rate. This is due to the novel coronavirus and if we want football then that is the price to pay.

Therefore, Parkhead will have a much different feel to it when players take the pitch. Here is where Nicholas’s recent comments and argument stem from. He believes that without the Hoops supporters in the stands that the club could ‘stumble’ according to his column in the Express and reported by The Daily Record.

Here is a snippet of what he had to say:

"“I am a Celtic fan. I want another Treble, I am not camouflaging that but I do think Celtic will have a problem with no or limited crowds.“I think they will find it the hardest to adjust to that lack of energy they get from 60,000 fans every second week.“That is a massive thing to lose and I can see it causing Celtic a stumble, especially in one of the cups.“If Nicola Sturgeon decides to continue to take control then the best we can hope for is very small crowds, but if it is long-term then Celtic would be impacted more than any other team. The other major worry I have about the club is that they have lost a few players and don’t have the same numbers in the squad.”"

To be completely honest it makes perfect sense. Paradise is one of the biggest home-field advantages in all of Europe across all sports. No other home club gets to experience that in Scotland. By taking that away it puts everyone on an even playing field as far as atmosphere goes.

The Hoops will need to make adjustments and continue to be the absolute best squad on the pitch. There is no reason that shouldn’t be the case. However, it would be nice to have the backup of the fans.
